Check out this nostaligic commercial for a sewing machine!

Brilliant advert!! I've only had sraightforward old second hand machines and I've always broken those. I haven't had a machine for a few years, but I'd love one that could do loads of different stiches like that.

weirdbunny - don't you love it! Wish my machine did the large shape stitch. The brother is a real good machine with a lot of stitch variety and a fair price for the quality - see this link: (copy and paste this url)

Hoo Hoo!! My mother still has a working Necchi that is at least 45 years old. It has all these black plastic disc?cogs?gearwheels? that you slot in for different embroidery stitches. can't do a decent buttonhole though! Sigh!!

Wow Cherry Rolfe she does! I hadn't even heard of the brand before the I saw the video so that's amazing. That's fantastic that it still runs, too bad about the buttons but hey one day it might be a real collectors item!

Hmmm... my Necchi isn't nearly that wonderful! It is only 25 years old though.

My Janome has lots of weird stitches on it and I never know what to do with them...

But I still love my machine as it always eats through whatever crazy fibre sandwich that I dream up. I'm very mean and it loves me anyways.

I think the commercial was brilliant though. I wonder if I could mod my sewing machine with some sort of crazy music player... hmmm..
