Fiona Apple: Across The Universe

Click the arrow to play. The Beatles classic by Lennon. I really like how Fiona sings it. In February 08 the Beatles version was transmitted into Deep space by the NASA Deep Space Network. See NASA clip. Just look at how she is oblivious to all the chaos behind her - because she is pulled to the light and laughter of the universe and knows this is her place. She is choosing calm and peace for herself. Nothing is going to change her world.
Lyrics:
Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world

Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world

Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing
Through my open ears inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a
Million suns, it calls me on and on
Across the universe
Jai guru de va om
Nothings gonna change my world,
Nothings gonna change my world.
Nothings gonna change my world.
Nothings gonna change my world.
Jai guru de va, jai guru de va
Jai guru de va, jai guru de va
Jai guru de va.

Jai guru de va, jai guru de va.

Big B

Here is a card I hand made for my brother's birthday. Although the big glittery B could stand for brother, or birthday it's actually his first initial. He said he appreciated the time it took to make - so I was of course very glad that he liked it. Hope you enjoyed your sushi brother!
To make the card I used metallic paper (and the card and envelope do match, my camera made the colors appear a little different in the photo) ribbon, cut the back off of a glittery brad, the silver designs were embossed, and cut out paper shapes to layer, as well as that big chipboard B.
